Level of confidence

It is still pretty cold here, in Philadelphia, but I couldn't wait to wear this knit jacket which I bought about a month ago. Believe me, I was in a mood to be creative, I tried many different options to put underneath this jacket, but as always, I ended up with my black cashmere turtleneck which you have seen in almost every post.

At first, I was thinking "Again? Everybody is bored already with this sweater including myself...", but a few minutes later I realized that it was the item that made me - me. It is one of my goals to stay true to myself, I want to wear outfits that represent me and only me one hundred percent. I don't want to focus on my ability to create just any outfit, but to create an outfit for myself. Why resist?

Yesterday I had a day off and decided to spend some time in the city. And I noticed that my level of confidence was much higher when I followed my style preference. Do you feel this way in clothes you wear?

  1. Your sweater jacket is gorgeous! I feel the same way, if I'm wearing something I love and feel good in, I'm more confident!

    1. Thank you very much, Maria! I bought those sunglasses a long time ago at TJMaxx. It was a great deal, I paid only $60.00 instead of almost $200.00. I sill love them!

  3. Love the outfit Tatiana. You are right that wearing what is "me" makes me feel more confident. You might remember that when we did presentations, I usually wore one of two outfits because I knew they would not pull or bunch up or need to be adjusted while I spoke. They fit and were "me" so I could focus on my presentation and not my clothes. (P.S. the picture with the squirrel reminds me of a man from Japan I lived with in l'Arche who would let chipmunks climb on him--a happy memory--thanks).

  4. Tatiana,
What a beautiful statement piece, that coat! I often look at Anthropologie, as they have quality pieces that are unique. Beautiful with the black turtleneck and slacks. I do feel that when I dress in my style, what I am comfortable in, I feel more confident as well.
